The Golden Week sale features titles from Japanese developers, running. Here’s a recap of the PlayStation Plus free games in 2016, complete with the total value of the games offered each month: January 2016 114. In the same interview, Sony said it was not abandoning the PS3 - though it admitted it could be discontinued somewhat faster than the PS2, which is still on sale in some regions - so we could also potentially see three different platforms on Plus at the same time. To celebrate Japan’s Golden Week, PlayStation is hosting an extensive sale on games for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and even PlayStation 3, along with a separate but equally sweeping swath of discounts for games under 20. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get access to three games in May: Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 5, Bugbear Entertainment’s Wreckfest, and Beam Team Games’ Stranded Deep.

Sony has said before that it plans to make every PS4 game available digitally, with a subscription service on the table, and it's not hard to imagine it being rolled into PlayStation Plus as a variation of the instant games model. The confirmation isn't really surprising. Finally The Last of Us Remastered, will be just 9.99 along with several other PlayStation Hits games. "We’re not yet in a position to disclose our plans for the future of PlayStation Plus," says Ryan, "but there will definitely be a prominent role to play for it in the PlayStation 4 landscape." Currently set at around $5 a month, the service gives players discounts on the PlayStation Store, cloud storage for game saves, and a rotating selection of free "instant games" for the PS3 and Vita. The sale will also include the Days Gone, and the new MediEvil remake for 19.99. We didn't hear much about the PlayStation Plus subscription service at last week's announcement, but Sony Europe CEO Jim Ryan tells the PlayStation Blog that the company hasn't forgotten it.
